Degree Programmes
In designing its undergraduate curriculum, the History Department strives to respond to student interest and goals, to reflect staff expertise, and to accommodate broader developments within the discipline. As such, the links below provide an overview of the programmes as they currently stand, for the reference of prospective students. They may, however, be liable to change, and they may thus not indicate exactly what the programme will look like every year.
V100 BA History
A three-year, flexible degree programme that enables students to study ancient, medieval and modern history. Please note this course is distinct from V101 History based at the School of Slavonic and Eastern European Studies (SSEES). |
V104 BA History with a Year Abroad
A four-year, flexible degree programme that allows students to spend their third year studying at a university in North America. Please note this course is distinct from V201 based at the School of Slavonic and Eastern European Studies (SSEES). |
V1R9 BA History with a European Language
A four-year, flexible history degree programme with a compulsory language requirement. Students spend their third year studying at a university in France, Germany, Italy or Spain. |
V110 BA Ancient History
A three-year degree programme that has an emphasis upon ancient history, whilst also allowing students to explore later historical periods. |
VQ14 BA Ancient History and Egyptology
A three-year joint honours degree programme combining ancient history with Egyptian language and archaeology. |
