Interdepartmental Courses
Depending on your degree programme, you may be able to take up to one of your required four course units in another department. Different
departments have different ways of registering for their courses. If
you are interested in taking a course outside the History department, it
is worth contacting the relevant department or looking at their website
to see whether you will need to attend a registration session during
induction week. You will find some further information about
registration in popular departments for History students below.

Most Ancient Languages are taught in the Department of Greek & Latin. Some of you are required to take an ancient language for your degree; your seminar group will be allocated by the course tutor in Greek & Latin. |

The Language Centre
requires students to take a placement test before registering for
the appropriate level course, so be aware that you may have a busy
schedule in induction week! |

History with a European Language approved courses HwEL students who are planning to take courses in the French or German Departments should attend registration sessions in induction week. HwEL students taking Italian or Spanish should contact the course administrators directly to register (Italian: Laura Mason, Spanish: Clare Szembek). |
