TRANSLATION AND DIRECT READING 2
Mondays 2-4 and Thursdays 4-6, Term 2
This course will involve researching, reading, abstracting and
presenting Chinese primary and secondary literature in English. While the main
focus of the module is to ensure that there is a tight structure against which
students’ progress can be measured, it will also mean that native Chinese
speakers can work from their own linguistic strengths, contributing to the
whole programme and interacting as far as possible with the other students.
Assessment: weekly in-class translation assignments (50%) and one 2.5hour exam (50%).
