Professor Nicola Miller steps down as Head of Department
15 August 2012
By Professor Stephen Conway
Professor Nicola Miller steps down this week after five years as head of History. She has been a great ambassador for the department, both within UCL and across the academic community. Staff and students, past and present, owe her a huge debt of gratitude for her hard work and dedication.
She hands over the department in a thriving state. Highly rated for its teaching and research, with important new appointments secured, History has a clear sense of direction set out in a strategy for expansion. We will be doing all we can to carry forward her good work.
Professor Miller now starts a period of well-earned sabbatical leave, in which she will have the chance to pursue her research interests unencumbered by the duties of headship.
