Chair in Modern British History
16 March 2012
We are pleased to announce the appointment of our new Chair in Modern British History, Professor Margot Finn.
Margot is currently working on a book on the families of the East India Company and a Leverhulme-funded project called ‘The East India Company at Home, 1757-1857’. The Leverhulme project team (Drs Helen Clifford and Kate Smith and PhD student Ellen Filor) will be joing UCL History with Margot in July. She is not only a distinguished researcher and dedicated teacher, but also a highly collegial person, who has made a great contribution both to Warwick University, where she had lead on widening participation, and to the historical profession, with her work as member of Council and a Vice-President of the Royal Historical Society. She is also on the REF History sub-panel.
