Iwan Morgan awarded Commonwealth Fund Chair in American History

We are delighted to announce that Iwan Morgan, Professor of United States Studies at the UCL Institute of the Americas, has been awarded the title of Commonwealth Fund Chair in American History on an honorary basis. 

This position was previously supported by an endowment to the history department (which continues to fund American history conferences at UCL), and it was the first established chair in American history in the UK. There have been three previous holders of the title - Hale Bellot, Harry Allen and Maldwyn Allen Jones but it had then been vacant since 1987.
