Iwan Morgan, who holds the honorary position of Commonwealth Fund Chair of American History (UCL History) alongside his post as Professor of US History (UCL Institute of the Americas) has had an IHR annual lecture series named after him. This is in recognition of his longstanding contribution to the study of US history.

The lecture will take place on an annual basis and be organised by the Institute of Historical Research, as part of their North American history seminar series. The lecture is to be delivered by a doctoral student, selected on a competitive basis.

The first event will be held on 16 June at the UCL Institute of the Americas (51 Gordon Square) on the topic 'A Liberal Economist in the Age of Keynes: Walter W. Heller, John F. Kennedy and the New Economics, 1961 - 1962'.
