Jane Seymour

Dr Jane Seymour is a home-grown member of the department staff, having studied for the iBSc at the Centre in 1999-2000 and also for her MA and PhD since then.  She teaches the HMED3010: Disease in History option on the BSc course.  She also runs sessions on study skills such as essay-writing and coping with deadlines and workload.

Her PhD was on the philosophy and practice of public health between the wars in Britain.  She is interested in many historical aspects of modern medicine, especially the history of public health in relation to its moral, cultural, political and social context.
