DR LAURA MARLOW Cancer Research UK Post-doctoral Research Fellow EXPERTISE Cervical cancer screening; Human papillomavirus (HPV); HPV vaccination; Stigma; Ethnicity; Women's Health RESEARCH Research interests My previous research interests have included studying knowledge of HPV and cervical cancer in the general population, attitudes and acceptability of HPV vaccination amongst parents and adolescent girls and developing public information materials about HPV. I was particularly interested in ethnic inequalities in cervical cancer screening and HPV vaccination acceptability. I am also interested in the stigma of cancer and how stigma-related attitudes can vary depending on the cancer type. My Post-doctoral fellowship is a 3-year project funded by Cancer Research UK and will use qualitative and quantitative methods to explore knowledge, understanding and attitudes to cancer and cancer detection/prevention among women aged 30-60 years from Indian, Caribbean and white backgrounds.
