Green Impact UCL

2014 Green Impact Awards 2
Green Impact 2014 winners PALS are presented with their Platinum award by UCL President & Provost Michael Arthur

What is Green Impact?

Green Impact is a UCL-wide environmental competition and accreditation scheme that allows departments and divisions across the UCL to improve their environmental impact and engage staff and students with essential issues.

I'm a member of staff: how can I take part?

Teams sign up to take part in Green Impact; they may be composed of members from a department or floor of a building. Last year 25 UCL departmental teams took part in the competition. And this year, we're working to make this number even higher.

Participants take part in Green Impact by working through an online workbook of criteria. Criteria are split into Bronze, Silver and Gold categories, depending on how demanding they are. Depending on how ambitious teams are, they can aim for any one of these scores.

At the end of the year, this online workbook is submitted and the teams are audited by UCL students or staff. Teams that have accumulated enough points will be rewarded with nationally-recognised accreditations at our Green Impact award ceremony.

I'm a student: how can I take part?

Ask your supervisor, Departmental Administrator or Head of Department whether they’re taking part in Green Impact. If they're not, encourage them to do so; Green Impact is an essential way to improve your department's environmental impact.

If they taking part, you can work alongside them to improve the impact of your department. We can even give you training to help you take part; it’ll improve your department’s environmental performance and look great on your CV.

Get started!

Get involved. Make a positive environmental impact and engage staff and students with these essential issues. Register your team's online workbook now.
