Tia Kansara (UCL Energy Institute): Occupant Satisfaction in buildings in Abu Dhabi
This paper discusses the Kansara Survey and its use in the built environment in Abu Dhabi. A representative sample of twenty buildings is taken from the Abu Dhabi Urban Planning Council’s database. The Kansara Survey is based on the “Building in Use Survey” developed by Adrian Leaman and Bill Bordass of the Usable Building Trust. The survey is constructed to test the level of health and well-being inside the buildings of employees and residents. How are occupants impacted by thermal comfort and what recommendations are there for future buildings in high heat-stress countries?
