Ride Social workshops

Help make cycling a popular and accessible activity for the UCL community by leading rides for students and staff.

UCL is part of a pilot scheme by British Cycling to test a new approach to increasing cycling at UK universities. It focuses on training students and staff, enabling them to develop the skills to act as Ride Social Activators. This training enables students and staff to run recreational bike rides for the university community, helping more people take up cycling as a safe and enjoyable way to get around London. And by taking part, you could be one of the first people in the country to contribute to an increase in cycling across the university sector.

UCL have 10 Ride Social Activator positions available and each volunteer will benefit from a free Ride Leader qualification.

This is an official British Cycling qualification and will qualify you to deliver fun and safe bike rides for groups of cyclists with different abilities, including new cyclists and those who already ride but want to progress, on roads and cycle paths.

The free Ride Leader qualification will take place on Saturday February 6th 2016 from 10.00am-6.00pm in the CSC Conference Room, Bloomsbury Theatre Building.

The free Activator workshop will take place on Wednesday February 24th 2016 from 1.00-5.00pm in the CSC Conference Room, Bloomsbury Theatre Building.
