Funding stream launched to support UCL-University of Toronto collaboration

Funding to encourage academic collaboration that addresses key challenges has been launched by UCL and the University of Toronto (U of T).
UCL and the University of Toronto (U of T) have launched a stream of seed funding to encourage academic collaboration that addresses key challenges.
Ten joint projects will be selected to receive a maximum £16,000 ($28,000 Canadian dollars) over two years.
The call is open to all UCL faculties, with projects relating to the fields of Cities, Child Health, Education, Neuroscience and Social Sciences particularly welcomed.
UCL and U of T are contributing matching funds to support collaborative education and research initiatives, including:
- Joint research projects
- Joint teaching projects
- Doctoral student mobility
- Any other form of partnerships, to be promoted and implemented jointly when both U of T and UCL find it mutually beneficial.
The call was launched the same week as UCL The Bartlett hosted a visit from a U of T delegation for a workshop on affordable housing.
The aims of the workshop were to discuss participants' current research on the broader theme of affordable housing in London and Toronto and to identify core areas of comparison and contrast that can be used to develop future projects for collaboration.
The deadline for submission of funding proposals is 8 September 2017.
