Australia
UCL Australia, in Adelaide, is home to the School of Energy
and Resources Australia, the International Energy Policy Institute
(IEPI) and a sub-department of the Mullard Space Science Laboratory.
UCL Australia opened in 2009 as UCL’s first overseas campus. The campus is training the next generation of energy and resources leaders offering an MSc in Energy and Resources Management and PhD opportunities. The government of South Australia and Australian energy company Santos are partners of UCL Australia.
In February 2010, the first cohort of students on the
two-year MSc in Energy and Resources Management was admitted, and December
2011 saw the first group of MSc and Graduate Certificate students graduate.
The expansion into allied areas began in 2012, when a branch of the UCL Mullard Space Science Laboratory was opened and when the IEPI was established. From September 2012 there will be 16 staff in the various parts of UCL Australia – nine academics and seven support staff.
