The Grand Challenge of Global Health (GCGH), working through the Institute for Global Health is looking to widen its group of committed research theme leaders. Through tapping into their technical knowledge and international research networks the research theme leaders will guide IGH activities such as workshops, symposia , research bids, learning opportunities for students, and working groups to assess current areas of research in global health. They will suggest future directions for new research and provide insights into research opportunities where IGH could have the greatest impact on global health.

The opportunity to become a Global Health research theme leader is open to anyone in an established academic or senior teaching post at UCL, who is working in global health within any discipline. Research theme leaders will have the opportunity to: apply to the Global Health Board for funding of up to £2000 to develop activities; access a network of UCL staff working in the field of global health; get support from IGH to help coordinate and develop activities and receive information about new collaborations, project proposal development and publishing opportunities. We strongly encourage the participation of research theme leaders outside of SLMS and suggestions on new research themes.
