The UCL Global Disability Research Group have been awarded funding from UCL Futures to hold a four part seminar series followed by a one day conference to be held in April 2010.

This third seminar will explore the high-profile theme of humanitarian disaster relief and how the new SPHERE guidelines, which set global standards for disaster relief efforts, can support disabled people in post-disaster countries.
Seminar: 'Disability and Poverty - A Perspective from the World Bank

This fourth seminar will explore the relationship between disability and poverty from the perspective of the World Bank.
Daniel Mont is a Senior Economist with the World Bank Poverty Reduction and Economic Management Team in Vietnam, and formerly with the World Bank's Disability and Development Team. Daniel has published in the areas of disability measurement and inclusive development. He is the recipient of a public policy fellowship from the Joseph P. Kennedy Jr. Foundation and was named the first John Jones Scholar in Workers' Compensation by the Workers' Compensation Research Institute. Daniel is also the author of A Different Kind of Boy: A Father's Memoir about Raising a Gifted Child with Autism.
