UCL's International Strategy
UCL's new International Strategy for the period 2012-17
was approved by Council, the governing body of UCL, on 15 May 2012.
The Strategy will be formally launched and published in the near
future. The mission of UCL as London’s Global University,
affirmed in the UCL Council White Paper 2011-21, sets
the framework for the new International Strategy.
Led by UCL's
Vice-Provost (International), Professor Michael Worton, the
Strategy for 2012-17 sets out the steps to be taken to strengthen and
enhance UCL’s position as an internationally engaged and
internationally responsive world-leading global university.

Engineering announced today that two members of staff will receive funding
through Grand Challenges Explorations, an initiative created by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation that enables
individuals worldwide to test unorthodox ideas that address persistent health
and development challenges.
Dr Tarit Mukhopadhyay and
Professor Clare Elwell will pursue their
innovative global health research projects, titled ‘Elimination
of the Cold Chain with Low-Cost Liquid Viral Vaccines’ and ‘Novel Biomarkers of Nutrition
Related Cognitive Development’.
