Martin Liebscher is Research Fellow at the German Department and
Honorary Senior Lecturer at the Psychoanalytic Unit of the Psychology
Department. He previously co-founded and directed the Ingeborg Bachmann
Centre for Austrian Literature at the Institute of Germanic & Romance
Studies of the School of Advanced Studies (University of London). His
research interests lie in nineteenth- and twentieth-century German
philosophy, especially Friedrich Nietzsche, as well as in psychoanalysis
and psychotherapy (Sigmund Freud, Carl Gustav Jung), its history and
influence on literature, and in contemporary Austrian literature. He is
an affiliated fellow of the IGRS.
His current research project funded by the Philemon Foundation is the
publication of the letter exchange between Carl Gustav Jung and Erich
Neumann.
