How to Request that a New Printer is set up in FIS
If your printer is not set up on FIS, please email the FIS Helpdesk with the following information:
Make/Model of Printer (eg. Hewlett Packard, 4250dn). Please note, more technical details on what printers we support are available here.
IP Address (eg 182.75.242.263). This information can be provided by your IT representative.
FIS Name - this will be the name you want to call it and will be preceeded by your departmental prefix (eg FIN_Rm205).
In addition, you will need to contact your IT representative to ensure that the printer is "DNS Registered", and that they will allow access to the FIS servers (193.60.247.26 and 193.60.247.27) over port 9100
If you would like to use a print server to handle your printing, then you will need to send us the following information:
Make/Model of Printer (eg. Hewlett Packard, 4250dn). Please note, more technical details on what printers we support are available here.
IP Address of Print Server (eg 182.75.242.263). This information can be provided by your IT representative.
Print Queue Name (eg. Rm205).
In addition, you will need to contact your IT representative to ensure that the print server is "DNS Registered", and that it will allow access to the FIS servers (193.60.247.26 and 193.60.247.27) over port 515.
