Professor Julian Graffy

Professor Julian Graffy is Professor of Russian Literature and Cinema in the Department of Russian in the School of Slavonic and East European Studies, UCL. He was recently the recipient of a Research Fellowship from the Leverhulme Trust and is engaged in writing a book about the representation of foreigners in Russian and Soviet films over the 100 years of Russian film history. Among his publications on Russian film are Bed and Sofa, KINOfile Film Companion, 5, London and New York, 2001 and Chapaev, KINOfile Film Companion, 12, London and New York, 2009. He has written widely on Russian literature and film, and has been a contributor to the British film journal Sight and Sound between 1991 and 2009.
