Dr Mererid Puw Davies
Mererid Puw Davies (M.A., M.St., D.Phil), studied at Magdalen College and St John’s College, Oxford. She is the author of The Tale of Bluebeard in German Literature from the Eighteenth Century to the Present (2001) which addresses issues of violence and gender in the German fairy tale, and of numerous articles on modern literature, film and cultural studies. She is currently working and publishing on the culture of the protest movements of the late 1960s in West Germany, especially the intersection of culture and politics in the Federal Republic, and on literary, artistic and political responses to the Vietnam War.
Mererid Puw Davies teaches German language, modern literature, culture and film at all levels.
