How to Find Us

Something Else for the Weekend is based at:

UCL Roberts Building
Malet Place
London
WC1E 7JE

Look for the Waterstone’s bookshop on the corner of Gower Street and Torrington Place. We are opposite that in the orange building with big glass windows.

Some events take place at The UCL Art Museum and The Petrie Museum of Egyptian Archaeology.

Travellers' Toilets

Date: May 11 & 12, 2013
Time: 1pm - 5pm
Location: Malet Place, London, WC1E 7JE

Pissoir (toilet sign)

Visit our two pedagogical portaloos to explore UCL research on toilets, travel writing, cultural difference – and where to go, in London and around Europe.

Read the graffiti and add your own, pick up an anthology of travellers' toilet papers, share your own travel experiences, contribute to a discussion of cross-cultural lavatorial awareness, make a 'boghouse miscellany' for private perusal at home, or chat up the attendants.

This will really be something else for the weekend.

The project includes translation and editorial contributions from Alex Drace-Francis, University of Amsterdam.
