How to Find Us

Something Else for the Weekend is based at:

UCL Roberts Building
Malet Place
London
WC1E 7JE

Look for the Waterstone’s bookshop on the corner of Gower Street and Torrington Place. We are opposite that in the orange building with big glass windows.

Some events take place at The UCL Art Museum and The Petrie Museum of Egyptian Archaeology.

Pigeon Sim

Date: May 11, 2013
Time: 1pm - 5pm
Location: Foyer, Roberts Building, Malet Place, London, WC1E 7JE

Pigeon Sim

Pigeon Sim allows you to fly around a virtual London, using gestures to control your height and direction. Flap your arms to fly higher, lean to one side to bank, and experience the city from an entirely new perspective as you swoop and soar across it.

The simulator uses a Microsoft Kinect to detect your movements, and displays London using the Google Earth 3D plugin. CASA doctoral researcher Flora Roumpani will be talking about how we visualize cities in 3D, and ways in which we can interact with them.

Workshop

2pm - 2.45pm

CASA doctoral researcher Flora Roumpani will be talking about how we visualize cities in 3D, and ways in which we can interact with them.  (Room 105b, Roberts Building)
