In Alan Moore and Eddie Campbell’s 1988 re-imagining of the Jack the Ripper murders, Queen’s surgeon William Gull journeys through London by coach, visiting locations of symbolic significance for the history of Freemasonry, William Blake’s writings and Nicholas Hawksmoor’s pagan-influenced architecture, to unpeel layers of London’s history.
Members of CASA are walking this route, mapping it using GPS, and recording sound and images, using this data as the basis for visualisations which integrate time, space, and stories around London.
