The Chilean Isla Navarino's only settlements are Puerto Williams, a naval base and Ukika, the last village for the native populations. Stands like this, which I believe are used to calculate the angles for artillery pieces, are a constant reminder that the Chilean-Argentine border is heavily disputed.
