Dr Tyng-Rong (Jenny) Roan
Tyng-Rong studied her PhD in the department of Civil, Environmental and Geomatic Engineering at University College London from 2008 to 2013. She is interested in computer simulation, visualisation and data analysis, especially in the field of crowd movement and social interaction.
Her research was the development of an agent-based evacuation model, using the data from qualitative analysis of fire investigation reports to build human behavioural rules for simulating evacuation movement. It was subsequently applied to real fire incidents to validate if the model can be used in practical applications.
She recently passed her viva and looks forward starting a new career that can contribute her knowledge. She currently engages a project of mock up tube train carriage experiment that was commissioned by London Underground Ltd from UCL, analysing passengers' flow, dwell time and density distribution using video analysis.
