Extremism disenchanted: what role can education play?

Young people in the UK today who are attracted to extremism are typically well educated. Given the weaknesses of this ideology in terms of its use of history, internal coherence of arguments and moral standards, its success with many educated young people requires explanation. PADEMIA website launched

PADEMIA is a Europe-wide network of 56 academic institutions from 31 countries - including the UCL European Institute - dedicated to studying parliamentary democracy in Europe.


The network PADEMIA exists to promote research and teaching in reaction to growing European demands to study parliamentary democracy in Europe. It seeks to enhance discussion among students, junior and senior researchers, also in exchange with stakeholders, on how to deal with the new challenges that parliaments and citizens across Europe are facing today.
