The EI Director addressed the Commission on "Britain’s Global Role".

This body deals with issues relating to foreign policy, defence, international aid and development, and is responsible for examining how the Labour is to address the future challenges in these areas. It is an integral part of the party's policy development in the run-up to the next General Election.

Richard briefed the Commission specifically on the issues regarding Europe and the European Union that are currently being debated in British politics and the press.
