Disposal of Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE)

This includes:

• Computer monitors and televisions

• Fridges, freezers and refrigerated equipment

• All other electrical equipment other than computers which are donated to charity

Normally there will be a charge for the disposal of these items. Please see the price list for a list of chargeable wastes and the costs of disposal.

Please contact the helpdesk which supports your building to arrange payment, collection and disposal.

Please Note:

• All equipment must be free of contamination by hazardous materials (biological, chemical or radioactive).

• The contents of fridges, freezers and other equipment must be removed and disposed of appropriately.

• Computers may be sent to charity, otherwise they should be disposed of using this procedure.

• All confidential and sensitive information must be totally erased from computer equipment, otherwise it should be disposed of as confidential waste.
