Space

The Estate and the space within it is a valuable, scarce and finite resource that is managed by UCL Estates and its allocation is overseen by the Estates Management Committee.

Due to the dynamic nature of UCL there are constant demands on space.

The UCL Bloomsbury Masterplan will establish a strategic framework for the long term development of UCL’s Bloomsbury estate and the use and allocation of space within it. The remainder of the estate will be reviewed and a strategic framework developed over coming months.

All requests for changes to space allocation and moves should be be addressed to the Deputy Director of UCL Estates, Dave Smith. Requests should include details of the need, changes in the nature of activity and/or in the number of staff together with any solutions considered. This will enable discussion of options.

UCL Buildings Register

The Buildings Register provides access for staff and students to view building details, photographs and location information across the UCL estate.

FAMIS Space Reports (Discoverer Viewer)

UCL Estates have introduced a set of online space reports produced with Oracle Discoverer. These will allow registered colleagues to access space data held in FAMIS, the database used by the division for recording UCL's space information.

If you are in receipt of an email from our Business & ICT Manager Martin Paul introducing the reports then you have already been registered and may login for access immediately.

We will shortly be making these reports available for all departmental administrators and providing a registration form for non-registered colleagues to request access.
