DEPARTMENTAL STATEMENT OF SAFETY POLICY (DSSP)

Heads of Department (Institutes, Divisions, etc.) are responsible for and take a lead in the preparation, annual review and authorisation of a Departmental Statement of Safety Policy which must include the arrangements specific to each department for managing health and safety and must be freely available for inspection within the department.

N.B. The term “department” is used generically to apply to all UCL management entities whose Head annually reviews and signs a departmental statement of safety policy.

The procedure and documentation necessary to assist Departments to prepare and maintain their DSSP is as follows:
