
Programme Structure
Students will spend the first two years of study at Sciences Po and the last two years at UCL.
The first two years are multi-disciplinary and provide a solid intellectual grounding in social sciences. If you intend to specialise in Economics, Law or History during your third and fourth years at UCL, you must take appropriate optional courses in the relevant discipline at Sciences Po.
Students specialise during their last two years (UCL) in any of the following major subjects:
Economics
History
International Relations
Law
Philosophy
Politics.
The major European languages offered are:
French
German
Italian
Spanish.
Students may choose between the following four campuses at Sciences Po:
Paris : No regional specialisation
Dijon : European Campus: Central and Eastern Europe
Menton: Middle Eastern and Mediterranean Campus
Nancy : French German European Campus
Poitiers : Euro-Latin-American Campus.
Students specialising in French may choose from any one of these five campuses. For other languages, the destinations are as follows:
Spanish - Poitiers
German - Nancy, Dijon or Paris
Italian – Menton, Dijon or Paris.

3rd year (UCL)
Either 1.5 units in French, German, or 1.0 unit in Italian or Spanish - and where there are suitable options for ESPS students, another 0.5 unit should be taken; 2.5 OR 3.0 units in area of specialisation. Students have access to relevant courses in the department(s) of their specialisation, and in ESPS.
4th year (UCL)
1.0 unit in language department; 1.0 unit ESPS Extended Essay; 2 units in area of specialisation. Students have access to relevant courses in the department(s) of their specialisation, and in ESPS.
