PhD Studentships for 2013 Start
The PhD topics available for competitive application,
are all eligible for support by research council quota awards, and in
some cases by alternative funding arrangements; some are also supported
by CASE status. Whilst the topics illustrate a cross-section of active
research within the Department of Earth Sciences at UCL, the list is
not exhaustive and we also welcome enquiries from students who wish to
formulate their own topics.
If you are interested in applying for a PhD in our Department, please direct your initial enquiry to the Graduate Tutor. If
you are already interested in a specific topic,
please direct your first contact to the named supervisor (or
co-supervisor). In either case, when you decide to complete an official
UCL PhD application, please ensure that you also send a copy of your
application simultaneously to the Department Graduate Tutor, for our internal records.
PhD Studentships Suggestions
We are always pleased to hear from students themselves
who may have a clear idea of what they wish to do for a PhD. The first
course of action is normally to identify a member of staff whose
expertise lies in the appropriate area and contact them directly. If you
are unsure about who to contact, please contact the Departmental Graduate Tutor.
