Steve Edwards - Knowledge Transfer and Enterprise Champion for 2012
19 November 2011

Dr Steve
Edwards of the Aon Benfield UCL Hazard Centre research group has been appointed a UCL Knowledge Transfer and Enterprise Champion for 2012.
This part-time
appointment was made by the Office of the Vice-Provost (Enterprise) and is
financed by the Higher Education Innovation Fund.
Steve’s project aims to
continue developing his existing initiative for building knowledge exchange and
research partnerships with international humanitarian and development agencies.
The project represents a timely opportunity for UCL to grow the reach and
impact of its natural and environmental sciences research and knowledge into
Asia, Latin America and Africa. Steve hopes that other agencies will follow the
lead of the Catholic Agency for Overseas Development, which is currently
co-funding two projects at UCL: multi-hazard assessments in the Philippines, through additional funding from the Doctoral Training Centre in Urban Sustainability and Resilience and a new project for 2012 on water risk in Bolivia, through additional funding from the Institute for Risk and Disaster Reduction.
