Academic Appointment Opportunities:
The Department of Earth Sciences invites applications for two professorial posts and two lectureship posts from 1st October 2012 in any area of the Earth, Environmental and Planetary Sciences. Applicants whose research will contribute to areas of strategic importance, and complement and strengthen the current research portfolio within the department are particularly welcome. We are seeking to appoint outstanding individuals with academic standing, vision and proven expertise who will provide leadership in their field of expertise, develop world-class research programmes and contribute to advanced teaching and knowledge exchange activities.

Key Requirements: Successful candidates will have an outstanding record of academic research, a strong publications portfolio, a track record of success in income generation from public and/or commercial sources, and will be able to work collaboratively with an inter-disciplinary approach.
Salary (inclusive of London allowance): Professorial appointments - the salary will be negotiable on the professorial scale but not less than £62,110 per annum. Lectureship appointments will be at Grade 8 of the UCL salary scales (£39,818 - £46,972 per annum).
