| Research Interests: Determinants of chronic disease in an ageing cohort |
| Research Description: Her current research interests focus on the determinants of health in an ageing cohort in Central and Eastern Europe (the HAPIEE study). In collaboration with colleagues in Czech Republic, Lithuania, Poland and Russia approx. 35,000 people have been recruited, examined and followed for between 2 and 6 years. Data collected includes a baseline medical examination, demographic, behavioural, health and economic questions, and mortality and CVD morbidity follow-up. This work is ongoing and is being funded by the Wellcome Trust and the National Institute on Aging. |
