We are a friendly, thriving multi-disciplinary research department located in Central London. Staff aim to develop a better understanding of health and prevention of ill health through vigorous research and the development of research methodology.

This knowledge is applied via undergraduate and graduate teaching, contributions to national and international health policy and contributions to the wider public understanding on health.

The Department sits within the Institute of Epidemiology and Health Care and Faculty of Population Health Sciences.

The students were selected by In2Science and the Social Mobility Foundation as part of schemes which encourage young people from low university participation schools or backgrounds to apply to university. The students were based in the Health and Social Surveys Research Group, with Dr Sadie Boniface as their main supervisor.
