21 March 2011: CloudMade: Tools for Location-Based Mobile Applications

Nick Black, Co-Founder at CloudMade gave this week’s guest lecture. Black, who is UCL born and bred, studied Archaeology as an undergraduate and Geography Information Science (GIS) as a graduate. He then worked in R&D for one year and simultaneously gained valuable experience building websites. He then went on to found CloudMade which creates tools that allow app developers to build-in location services, and create location-based advertising. More...

7 March 2011: You won’t be able to change anything, unless you change everything

Ali Parsa, who studied Civil Engineering at UCL as undergraduate and became head of the Student Union, gave this week’s guest lecture. Parsa returned to UCL later and received a PhD in Hydraulic Physics. During his PhD, Parsa became an entrepreneur by establishing his first venture in media promotion. Although the company started off disastrously, organising a trip to Greece for 3,000 students during the first Gulf War, he was later entitled entrepreneur of the year for it.

7 March 2011: Hanse Ventures: Building Great Companies

Serial entrepreneur and co-founder of Hanse Ventures, Sarik Weber, gave this week’s guest lecture. Weber is a graduate student of European Business Studies from Osnabrueck, Germany, and also studied at Buckinghamshire Business School and Deusto, San Sebastián.
