UCL showcases research at China Science Festival in Beijing

The inaugural China Science Festival was held at the Beijing Exhibition Center from 18th July to 3rd August, hosting a range of educational and outreach activity, covering a total area of 20,000 sq. m. The UK was invited to showcase expertise in science, technology and innovation, with the British Embassy asking UCL to be the main contributor from the higher education sector.

UCL Professor wins 2013 Lloyd's Science of Risk Prize

Helene Joffe, Professor of Psychology at the UCL Research Department of Clinical, Educational and Health Psychology, has won the 2013 Lloyd's Science of Risk Prize for her paper, Social Representations of Earthquakes: A Study of People Living in Three Highly Seismic Areas.

Cisco Named UCL Enterprise Corporate Partner of the Year 2013

Cisco is recognised for the length – and breadth – of their relationship with UCL. It’s origins lie with Prof Peter Kirstein in Computer Science over 30 years ago and that commitment is reflected today by the efforts of Prof Anthony Finkelstein, Dean of Engineering.

Partnership with Cisco & Imperial in Tech City

London has moved a step closer towards becoming a global leader in future cities research after UCL, Imperial College London and Cisco entered into a three year initial agreement to create a Future Cities Centre in the capital.

Arius3D Named SME Partner of the Year 2011

Arius3D has been awarded Small and Medium Enterprise Partner of the Year for the long-standing collaborative work and research it has helped to develop, in particular with the Petrie Museum, who are using the company's scanning equipment to develop innovative exhibitions and displays.

A New Milestone in Russia/UK Collaboration in Space Research

On 17th of February 2011 a tripartite Memorandum of Understanding was signed between UCL Mullard Space Science Laboratory, the Institute of Physics of the Earth and the International Science and Technology Center on future collaboration in the TwinSat Project that combines Russian and UK technologies to build new generation Earth observation satellites to monitor seismic activity such as earthquakes and volcanoes.

UCL Colin Chapman Lotus Engineering Masters Scholarship

The scholarship, inspired by UCL alumnus Colin Chapman (founder of Lotus) and sponsored by car manufacturer Group Lotus and the Chapman family, is awarded for engineering excellence and lasts for one year. Comprising £10,000 and a practical internship at Lotus Engineering, the scholarship is one of the successful outcomes of the Business Partnership Lotus event held at UCL in 2007.

Russian Space Mission to UK Results in Agreement on Collaboration

Further to discussions relating to the encouragement of Space Science research links between the UK and Russia, the ISTC (International Science and Technology Centre, Moscow), has generously supported a visit to London by a group of leading Russian space scientists, resulting in the signing of an important Memorandum of Understanding.
