Institute for Women’s Health
The Institute for Women’s Health (IWH) was established in 2004 with
the objective of improving the health of women in the UK and
internationally by creating a leading centre of excellence for research,
clinical care, education and training. IWH links the academic strength
of UCL and the clinical strength of University College Hospital (UCH), a
flagship NHS Trust with a state-of-the-art new hospital building.
The Institute combines the superior clinical expertise and skills of staff at UCH with the elite research staff at UCL, bringing together experts from across the spectrum of women’s health – from laboratory science to clinical skills to social and behavioural sciences – to produce high-impact research, innovative education programmes, and pioneering clinical initiatives.
