University College London ("UCL") is tendering for the Supply of Market Research for UCL Continuing Professional Development (CPD) and Short Courses
The requirement
UCL is among the world's top universities, as reflected in performance in a range of league tables and research citation indices. As such, UCL’s students, staff and other audiences come from all over the world and from diverse backgrounds.
A research-led university, UCL’s principal activities are the creation, dissemination and application of knowledge. This translates to a focus on research, teaching, collaboration, enterprise and public engagement. UCL also places particular emphasis on working with industrial, governmental, research and other partners to ensure the knowledge generated by the UCL community is used to address major issues facing society today.
The provision of short courses for executive education, professional development and continuing education is an exciting area of potential growth for UCL. Current provision has evolved in an ad hoc way, including some areas of considerable strength. UCL is working to create a support network of interested parties in CPD and to identify resources required to maximize UCL activity in this area, with the aim to develop CPD capability and offering. Over time UCL will evaluate the possibility of delivery of CPD as a separate business entity and identify opportunities for collaboration with other organisations.
Recently UCL has developed a ‘shop front’ for online purchase and access of CPD and Short Courses. This site, UCLeXtend (extend.ucl.ac.uk), is undergoing enhancement and addition of further courses over the remainder of 2013.
This research will enable UCL to focus its resources and planning effort in to the areas that are most likely to be successful.
