Professor Andrew Eder is Pro-Vice-Provost and Director of UCL Life Learning with a portfolio to facilitate the development of Life Learning across UCL. His experience during a ten year term as Director of Education and CPD at the UCL Eastman Dental Institute, where Professor Eder was recognised for excellence and innovation in teaching and learning at UCL as a recipient of a Provost’s Teaching Award in 2010, has proven invaluable in developing this activity.
As a Specialist in Restorative Dentistry and Prosthodontics, he also maintains a referral specialist Private Practice in Central London. Professor Eder has a special interest in the management of patients with tooth wear and is Co-Editor of the BDJ book on Tooth Surface Loss and Clinical Director of the London Tooth Wear Centre®.
Academic interests include innovative methodology and technology in teaching and learning and the impact of continuing education on patient outcomes in clinical practice. Professor Eder is a Past-President of Alpha Omega, the British Society for Restorative Dentistry and the Royal Society of Medicine’s Dental Section and serves on the Editorial Boards of several international dental journals.
