Professor Andrew Eder is Associate Vice-Provost (Enterprise) with a portfolio to facilitate the development of CPD and Short Courses across UCL. Having recently completed a ten year term as Director of Education and CPD at the UCL Eastman Dental Institute, Professor Eder was recognised for excellence and innovation in teaching and learning at UCL as a recipient of a Provost’s Teaching Award in 2010.

Professor Eder comments “With a background in educational entrepreneurship and leadership, I am delighted to have been invited to play a significant role in this exciting initiative at UCL. As the global demand for high quality lifelong learning continues to expand almost exponentially, UCL is superbly placed to be a leading provider”.

As a Specialist in Restorative Dentistry and Prosthodontics, he also maintains a referral specialist Private Practice in Central London. Professor Eder has a special interest in the management of patients with tooth wear and is Co-Editor of the BDJ book on Tooth Surface Loss and Clinical Director of the London Tooth Wear Centre®.

Academic interests include innovative methodology and technology in teaching and learning and the impact of continuing education on patient outcomes in clinical practice. Professor Eder is a Past-President of Alpha Omega, the British Society for Restorative Dentistry and the Royal Society of Medicine’s Dental Section and serves on the Editorial Boards of several international dental journals.
