Susan completed her first degree in Psychology at Cambridge having transferred from medical sciences and zoology. She then completed a PGCE in Oxford and taught in a London comprehensive school for 2 years prior to undertaking professional training at UCL in 1996-7. Susan completed her Doctoral training, again at UCL in January 2005, including using a Risk and Resilience Framework to consider the educational attainment of Children Looked After as a research thesis.
Susan joined Buckinghamshire Educational Psychology Service in 1997, working as a Specialist EP for Children Looked After 1999-2000 and then as a Senior EP since 2000. Her current interests include working with schools to support the emotional health and well-being of children and young people, specifically Nurture Groups and developing nurture provision within schools in Buckinghamshire and the Pyramid programme (a programme devised by Kaye Fitzherbert). Susan is an AVIG-UK accredited VIG Guider and is training as a VIG supervisor.
