Grania qualified as a primary school teacher in 1984 and taught for six years throughout the primary range. Prior to starting teaching she worked in pre-school and has retained her interest in early years education throughout her career as an EP. Grania completed her EP training at the Institute of Education in 1990 and has worked initially in Barnet and then Harrow.
Grania has been involved in local projects. These have related to developing a cognitive curriculum in the early years; a storytelling project encouraging interactions between children in a special school with children in a co-located mainstream school; training parents and staff in understanding autism. Most recently Grania has been involved with colleagues in delivering Harrow's contribution to targeted mental health in school, (TAMHS), which included direct interventions with pupils using cognitive behaviour therapy approaches alongside a computer assessment tool, 'In my shoes'. |
