Dr Olivia Kenneally

Olivia qualified as a teacher in 2000, and taught for three years working both within mainstream education and specialist provision, including working in a school for deaf children and in a school for children with ASD. Following this, she completed a Higher Diploma in Applied Psychology in University College Cork, followed by her M.Ed in Educational Psychology in Bristol University. Olivia then worked as an EP for three years in Bristol EPS, a year in New Zealand and a year in Australia, where she worked in the outback with the indigenous communities. Olivia then returned to the UK to complete her Doctorate in Child and Educational Psychology (D.Ed.Ch.Psych) at the Tavistock and Portman Clinic, University of Essex and completed this in 2013. She has recently completed a Postgraduate Diploma in CBT for Children and Young People at the Anna Freud Centre, UCL, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Paediatric Neuropsychology at the Institute of Child Health, UCL.

Olivia's current research interests include: social and emotional well being, mental health, resilience and therapeutic approaches, with a particular interest in cognitive behavior therapy and how it can be applied on a range of levels in schools and communities. Olivia has a keen interest in neuropsychology and has a number of publications in this area. Olivia is also interested in student and parent voice and has conducted and presented research in this area. Olivia has presented at national and international conferences on research into the effectiveness of and experiences of CBT and experiences of young people in Alternative Provision.
