Thomas Mun (1571 - 1641)

Mun's emphasis on the importance of the balance of trade in economic prosperity deeply influenced subsequent economic thought.

He was baptized at St Andrew Hubbard in East London – the church was destroyed in the Great Fire of 1666 and was in the current Love Lane. He lived in the parish of St Helen Bishopsgate and his body is interred in the chancel of the church.
