Courses

Prosthodontics (Advanced Training) MClinDent

This is a full-time (three-year), or part-time (four-year) Master's programme. The programme length satisfies the training requirements to sit the Membership in Restorative Dentistry (MRD) - Prosthodontics examination. This programme is open to UK, EU and overseas applicants.

Why Prosthodontics?

Prosthodontic specialists are the recognised experts for tooth replacement or smile improvement. This can range from a single tooth, multiple teeth, or all teeth and tissues in the mouth.  While many other dentists can do some or all of these treatments, prosthodontists are the specialists dedicated to this type of care.

Prosthodontics enables dentists to develop up-to-date skills, knowledge and expertise to confidently manage the treatment needs of patients in a holistic and comprehensive manner. It is a challenging and rewarding discipline that is constantly evolving due to innovations in digital technology, materials and techniques.

Why Eastman?

Our programme trains postgraduates to diagnose, treatment plan and manage patients with complex Prosthodontic needs, using an evidence-based approach. By joining our advanced training programme you will be able to develop up-to-date skills, knowledge and expertise in this specialty.

The programme has three components:

  1. Supervised clinical patient treatment and laboratory skills sessions.
  2. Seminars, workshops and other didactic sessions reviewing the clinical and scientific scope of the subject.
  3. A research investigation.

Students gain theoretical and practical experience in the management of complex cases, including exposure to surgical implant training. They also develop advanced diagnosis and treatment planning skills, develop confidence and the ability to provide successful clinical treatment. Students are heavily exposed to both digital and conventional workflows.

The goal is to produce graduates who will be able to manage the treatment needs of a patient in a holistic and comprehensive manner, and be problem solvers, critical thinkers and life-long learners.
