IntroductionThe unit has a first-class reputation for its patient care, teaching and research activities both nationally and internationally. We provide advice, treatment and education in the field of prosthodontics (conservative dentistry, fixed and removable prosthodontics) including implantology. A central focus of the unit is to provide high quality patient care through the educational programme for postgraduates in Prosthodontics at Masters and Specialist levels as well as Specialist Registrars in Restorative Dentistry. We attract trainees from across the world and many alumni progress to attain prominent positions in education, public service and clinical careers. |
World Class EducationOur world-renowned clinics care for one of the largest cohorts of hypodontia patients in the world. Patient care is driven by innovative, evidence-based methods. Clinical activity is supported by a multi-disciplinary team of dental nurses, hygienists, technicians and reception staff. Dental technical work is carried out in our fully-equipped modern laboratory with the support of highly trained dental technicians, fostering excellent communication. |
Research InterestsThe unit has three main research themes: ● Ageing — remaining tooth structure / tooth surface loss, tooth whitening and outcome of treatment modalities / QOL These are aligned with the divisional research themes. |
