IntroductionThe unit of Paediatric Dentistry is part of the department of Craniofacial Growth & Development and carries out specialist dental treatment for children and young adults under 17 years of age. We have a special expertise in caring for young patients with dental anomalies, dento-alveolar trauma and with special needs. There are strong links with the Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children and University College Hospital. The unit was one of the first to offer a professional doctorate of Paediatric Dentistry in the UK and the first to provide certificate level training. |
World Class EducationThe unit provides high quality training in the clinical and research skills needed for specialist practitioners. Our facilities are modern and graduates are exposed to a wide range of treatment modalities including general anaesthesia and sedation |
Research InterestsResearch interests are closely allied to Institute research themes and include dental anomalies, novel restorative materials and management of pain and anxiety. |
