Module structure
Programme specification
An outline of the structure of the Certificate in Advanced Aesthetic Dentistry programme and its assessment is available in the Programme Specification (MS Word).
Aims and Objectives
This course aims to provide:
- Knowledge and understanding of contemporary aesthetic biomaterials
- Knowledge and skills of clinical procedures in adhesive and aesthetic dentistry, including implant treatment planning and soft tissue management
- Improvement of the standards of delivered aesthetic clinical dental procedures
- Broadening of the considered options for treatment planning of complex aesthetic problems
Assessment
You will be formally assessed at the end of each module. The assessment at the end of Module 1 involves a 2-hour exam of 50 unseen Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) and/or Short Answer Questions (SAQ) and an essay on an assigned topic. The assessment at the end of Module 2 involves a 2-hour exam of 50 unseen Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) and/or Short Answer Questions (SAQ) and an oral exam with an aesthetic case presentations that the candidate will present.
Teaching methods
Timetabling
The programme will involve 24 full teaching days over a period of one year. Each day comprises:
A.M.: 9:30-13:00 Lectures, seminar
P.M.: 14:00-17:00 Hands On (Skills Lab or Clinic)
Normal working hours are 09:30 – 17:00, Monday – Friday however on
occasions some
activities may take place outside these core hours.
